Community Dev. Project
In March 2007, the Day Home purchased the adjacent property at 913 Shelby Avenue. The Board considered the increasing value of property in our area of East Nashville, and felt that this was our best opportunity to purchase the property before it was developed into a duplex, as planned by the previous owner. We are presently researching the issues involved in developing this property as a separate building or as an addition to our existing building. It is our hope that we can use the additional space to improve parking and traffic flow at the Day Home, create a meeting space for our many family functions and community meetings, and meet the increased need of quality childcare for low-income families by serving more children. We are optimistic that our friends and the community will support these additions as we strive to further beautify the neighborhood and expand our mission to serve more families.
