Fannie Battle Awarded Metro Pre-K Class
The Pre-K Classroom at Fannie Battle is an MNPS Community-Based Pre-K Program during the school year (May – August) – please see below for enrollment, requirements, and other aspects of the MNPS Program. The Pre-K Classroom offers before and after care during the school year, full-day childcare when MNPS is closed, and a full-day summer program. The Pre-K Classroom provides childcare, educational activities, and enriching experiences to 20 children daily between the ages of 4-5. There are two full-time teachers in the classroom. The classroom uses the DLM Curriculum (Developmental Learning Materials), weekly lesson plans, and the HELP Assessment (Hawaii Early Learning Profile) is used to establish individual goals for each child. Our classrooms use the Love In A Big World Character Education Curriculum to help create an entire school community that is learning and building character together.
Metro Pre-K Requirements are:
- Birth certificate or acceptable proof of age (child must be 4 on or before September 30, 2008)
- Immunization and Physical (shot record) must be up to date and on a Tennessee Certificate of Immunization Form and must be within the last 6 months.
- Social Security Card
- Proof of residency (current utility bill, lease, etc…
- Proof of Income (1040 form on which the child’s name is listed, Family First Case Number, Food Stamp Number, Etc…) must be elidgible for free or reduced lunch
- Assessment (scheduled by the scheduled by the school)
