Fannie Battle Reunion
In May 2007, the children, teachers, and staff welcomed more than 30 of Fannie Battle’s friends. The Reunion was the idea of life members Shelia Akin, Melba Blevins, Cathey Fuqua, Diana Mobley, and Sandy Welborn, who hosted the gathering. It was a great chance to renew friendships and see firsthand all that is happening at Fannie Battle.
After refreshments, visiting, and a tour, Sara Longhini gave a presentation that highlighted the many accomplishments of Fannie Battle. The program ended with songs from our Metro Pre-K class. Hand-painted flower pots created by the children were presented to everyone as they left. One guest remarked “The morning was delightful and we must do it again!”
