Childcare Programs


Fannie Battle Day Home for Children, Inc. exists to continue the mission set forth by Ms. Battle in 1891.  We endeavor to provide an invaluable service to children of low-income and/or single-parent families that are working or furthering their education in order to maintain their independence.  Our mission is: to provide quality childcare that encourages the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of each child in a safe and happy environment.




Enrollment is open to all children whose parents/guardians are working or going to school.  Fannie Battle accepts children 6 weeks old through 10 years during the school year, and 6 weeks old through 12 years during the summer without regard to sex, race, color, political affiliations, veteran status, religion, nationality, or disability. Other requests are served on a first-come basis and slot availability.  Each applicant must complete an application in order to be considered for enrollment or placed on the waiting list.



6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
If a parent/guardian is going to be late picking up their children, they must call the Day Home, but they will still be charged.  Late fees are one dollar a minute past 5:30 p.m.



Fannie Battle Day Home for Children participates in the (CACFP) Child and Adult Care Food Program, which is open to all eligible children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.  Parents/guardians are required to fill out CACFP forms upon admission to the Day Home and these forms are renewed on a yearly basis.  Menus are posted outside the kitchen for parent’s information.

Breakfast~served until 8:30; children that arrive after should receive breakfast before they arrive.

Lunch~served between 11 a.m. and 12 a.m. depending on the group your child is enrolled in.

Snack~served between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. depending on the group your child is enrolled in.
